Our true selves are hidden beneath the layers of our daily experiences and life situations. It's possible to uncover those hidden parts of ourselves without completely falling apart, but when we do find ourselves broken by life events, we need to approach the process of rebuilding with an awareness of who we truly are and what we truly want. Only then can we truly put ourselves back together in a way that feels whole and true.

I find in this case the idea that "Men are formed by their adverse moments and their responses" is wholly true. Perhaps there are no moments of failure if we see each opportunity to learn. That way we are never truly "broken", more tested.

Maybe it is not just a rhythm after all, Though I think that if you really want to see the real you get power. Being in a position of power has a way of changing and revealing our true selves. Sometimes you get to meet a dimension of you that you have never known.

This saying totally makes sense to me, but in two ways. Sure, we see ourselves way better when we stop fooling ourselves, but we also see who our real friends are. It is sad that we have be totally bare to truly understand ourselves, you know? But these days, there are so many people who just pretend to be someone they're not, following trends and all that. They're scared to be themselves because they worry about what others will think.
