I understood that the threads on the book of the month by Marcus Aurelius Hughes are for the exclusive use of people who have bought his book and premium members. However, I didn't think that the entire section, on all the other books on that section of the forum was unavailable to other users at all. However, that seems to have been introduced now.

I had written a post to the thread in this month's book discussion on the law of attraction, by Sushan and, he had replied to my post. Today, I went to answer his reply and it seems that it is now locked for me, which I found a shame, because I wished to continue the debate. So, am I correct to think that only premium members are entitled to participate in any further book of the month thread discussions? Perhaps Scott or someone else can clarify if this is a new decision which has been introduced amongst the premium group.

The Book of the Month forums are currently open to anyone who has bought and read at least one of the books of the month.

This is mainly because the point of having the book club is for the participants to get to discuss a book and the ideas in it with other people who read the same book.

If there was a topic in one of the Book of the Month forums that you were discussing for a book you haven't read, then that would indicate that topic is probably not really about the book and isn't best categorized in that forum. In that case, you can send me a private message with the link to the topic, and I can move it to one of the more general public forums on the site.
