If a supergiant star can only fuse elements up to iron, how is it that heavyer elements come into existence? Let alone on Earth. If these heavyer elements were not created in a star, then how is it that we can find them on Earth?

Earth Perhaps is Debris from such reaction on a star. As we could understand so far all the elements have the same composition as they are found on earth, same atomic weight and numbers. That in other words would man a single source. The Fusion would create huge explosions and the resulting material can be as huge as earth, let it be one of those explosions that were near to the end of creation of almost all the elements.

The heavier elements are created in the star, when the star collapses and goes supernova.
