What if in outer space the changes happen because of atoms and there properties? How are the gases and light created there? Both of thes questions are relative to their enviroments. pljames

You need a lot more than air, heat and cold to produce weather, pljames. It is an exceedingly complex phenomenon: planetary weather is profoundly dynamic and inconstant, and perhaps more complicated than any other process in the universe, with the possible exception of the big bang itself.

All changes in the universe happen, ultimately, because of the properties of atoms and their constituent particles. this applies equally to a supernova, or a passing shower. As to where the atoms and particles come from: well, they condensed out of a plasma. When we know what came before the big bang (if there was a big bang), we will know where the plasma came from (perhaps).

Pljames, it would help if you could revise what your question is. Are you asking how light is made? or what light is? or how gas is made?
If you are asking how light is made and you accept the quantum mechanic model of superstring theory and the standard model, light is made up of quanta in the form of massless particles called photons which have a certain wavelength that corresponds with the amount of energy the photons have. Superstring theory suggest that these and all other particles in the universe arise from one-dimensional strings that have their own wavelength. You might envision these strings as infinitely thin rubberbands that vibrate and each frequency of vibration corresponds to a type of particle. photons have thier own unique frequency. They are just one of the many ways in which energy manifests itself.
Gas in space has more to do with a macroscopic viewpoint. In order to know how there is gas in the universe, you must know the life cycle of a star, and that is a whole other explanation that I can dive into if you wish, but like I said what is it you mean?
