In his book, the author discusses the concept of 'associational thinking', which is a vital notion in creativity. Drawing on quotes like “We are such stuff as dreams are made of” from 'The Tempest' and Steve Jobs’ idea that “creativity is just connecting things”, he highlights the power of linking seemingly unrelated ideas to form new and innovative concepts. As he explains, “The ability to connect apparently unrelated things, or associational thinking, is a fundamental process that underlies creativity.”

Is creativity about thinking within a structured framework, or is it more about thinking outside the box? Is true creativity found in the ability to dismantle conventional links and form entirely new connections?

In a world where innovation is often celebrated for its uniqueness, is associational thinking merely a step within a broader creative process, or does it represent the essence of creativity itself?
