Social media is covering the genocide live, or close to it. You can see many crimes against humanity on your favorite social media every day. This has brought about immediate reactions from thousands if not millions of people around the world. This is relatively unprecedented. Most similar atrocities around the world have been totally ignored or as least filtered by the US State Media's like CNN and NYT. But social media is showing atrocities in close to real time and the US State Medias are scrambling to moderate the stories to reduce the complicity of the Establishment.
The Establishment reaction is of course to look to banning or controlling social media.
I think Pelosi sees an opportunity to control TikTok and maybe even make some money in the process.

I also believe that the conflict in Gaza, with the super powers of the US and Israel bent on the total destruction of the Palestinians in Gaza, viewed as lesser humans, is shining a bright light on the class war being waged by the 1% of the West.

Could you expand on that, I'm not sure I get your point.
The Vietnam War was the first "TV war", in the sense that folks at home got (essentially) real time footage of the fighting. It had profound effects and ultimately turned the tide on the sentiment of the citizenry about (the ability to win) the war, when Walter Cronkite began to become pessimistic about it.

Yes it's much the same in the UK.

It feels horribly voyeuristic to see some of the reports from within Gaza from ordinary people there, and the few remaining journalists who haven't been murdered. But we ought to look it in the face, especially those of us whose governments are complicit. And that has helped to spur millions around the world to put pressure on our governments as they triangulate their responses. For what that's worth - Israel seems to feel it's impregnable for now.

It is clear, at least to me, that the demonstrations around the world against the US-Israel's genocide are members of the 99% class. The Ruling Class favor the genocide.
The US Ruling Class including Congress have 100% backed the genocide as do all the Ruling Class media (CNN, MSNBC, NYT, etc) while less than half of the 99% Class favor genocide. There is a class war as we watch banks, health insurers, and other major corporations raise prices and lower services for the 99% Class. There is a bipartisanship move to privatize Medicare which will gut it.

In my opinion, what is happening in Gaza is deeply wrong and constitutes Crimes Against Humanity.

However, who is trying to ban social media? I don't see any talk of banning Facebook or the other platforms. The US seems to have security concerns about Tik Tok and wants it divested from ByteDance. But the Gaza war is all over the various social Media platforms.

You also say that we are witnessing a "class war" of the ruling class against the 99% of people who are the non-ruling class. And you say that the "ruling class" is in favor of the war in Gaza whilst the 99% are against it.

I'd like to ask you about the source of these statistics. Who compiled them? And can you tell us who precisely is the ruling class? What are the qualifications for inclusion into the ruling class?

These are my observations and opinions.
With regard to TikTok, the The House just passed legislation that could ban TikTok in the US unless the app divests its Chinese parent company, ByteDance. Our government looking out for us? I don't think so. They won't even bother with helping us with the healthcare crisis where people's live are at stake. No TikTok is embarrassing the government by showing what is really happening in Gaza which is counter to what the IDF feeds CNN.
If TikTok does part ways with ByteDance, it looks to me like a great business opportunity for someone in the US Ruling Class.
Other social media outlets also provide stories that are contrary to the government message and may themselves be looked at to be controlled.

With regard to a Class War, if you don't recognize such, I doubt I can present anything to change your mind. I will point out that the millions around the world protesting against the genocide by US/Israel are not of the Ruling Class.

I don't think most people make that connection, in an explicit way at least. The complicity of our governments in genocide has shocked a lot of people, and the obvious power imbalance between Israel and Palestine being so ruthlessly exploited is sickening to most. Especially when we see it happening on our screens. Enough to move millions to protest, despite the general cynical apathy about politics - this feels like a new low. If our politicians of our major parties can't condemn genocide, then just what is beyond political self-interest?

I'm heartened at least that millions of people aren't as depraved as our leaders assumed. But I don't see it as a mass grassroots class awakening. The Right have taken the anti-establishment ground from the Left. The actual elites now use that vocabulary and appeal. While the 'Left' appeases them, even in genocide. The Right are also hilariously using social justice terms like ''anti-semitism'' as genocide apologetics, while their actual neo-nazis get themselves in a tangle over who they hate most, Jews, Muslims or Lefties.

TikTok update.

The House voted Wednesday in true bipartisan fashion to pass legislation that could ban TikTok in the U.S. as Republicans and Democrats alike sound the alarm that the popular video-sharing app, owned by a China-based company, is a national security threat.

Bipartisanship is not a good thing.

Remember when exposing the governments crimes against humanity were shielded by confidentiality and exposure would lead to harsh punishments?
Now they are shown on TikTok and the government can have that.

Do you mean mean the continued attempted destruction of Israel by fanatical Islamic terrorists and their traitorous western allies - the ones who started the current conflict and who have total control over how long?

Or are you referring to the actual genocide in Sudan? Oh, of course not. None of you care at all about that one. Black Africans are far less important to the western left than Arabs unless problems are caused by the "Designated Oppressors" (Europeans, Jews). Interestingly, the Arabs in Africa killing Africans and forcing them into Islam seem to think much the same way.

There are a number of reasons that I am speaking out about what is happening in Gaza.
One is that we are watching what I believe most of the world sees as crimes against humanity or genocide by Israel of the Palestinian people. There are universal definitions of genocide that we see occurring with our own eyes.

Secondly, my government is participating in these crimes against humanity and I hope those of us that don't condone these actions will be heard and thus bring an end to the horrors. My government is supposed to be some what of a democratic republic, but they do not represent the majority of people as they send billion of dollars and weapons to help kill Palestinians.

Also, I see these actions as a part of the global class war that is becoming more apparent as we watch the capitalist class struggle for the last bite of pie at the expense of the masses. In the US, it's mostly the wealthy class that support the genocide while the non-wealthy class object.

The last reason is the crux. People in the west are disillusioned with society. The usual path of university, a career, home ownership and having a family is gone and people are understandably unhappy about this state of affairs.

There's no logical reason to focus on this, especially given that Palestine did this. Hamas still leadership considers their missile attack a success, despite the subsequent war, because it interfered with Israel from normalising relations with monarchist Arab states. No one talks about Hamas's responsibility not to pick fights that will guarantee great loss of life.

However, views on this are not split between the wealthy and poor, as you claim. That's the view of someone who wants to go to war, creating critical false divisions. What of all the older, wealthy lefties who are on the Palestine bandwagon? What of poor nationalists?

No one wants war, but many people see that Hamas brought this down on themselves. Where doe their responsibility lie? Would the Palestinian people be better off than they are today if their leaders compromised just once in the last 70 years and accepted a two-state solution? I'd say they would be vastly better off.
