Comforting lies and delusions are addicting but unfulfilling. The more you desperately drink, the thirstier you get.

"Why waste your energy being angry at the world, as if the world would even notice? The universe doesn't care if it broke your heart."

- Marcus Aurelius

It's a happy and deeply liberating way to think. Comforting lies and delusions are addicting but unfulfilling. The more of it you desperately drink, the thirstier you get. Bravely loving the stable truth will set you free, for everything else is tainted with the desperate anxiety of a liar, desperate to keep their lies straight, desperate to hide or escape the ever-encroaching creep of the inescapable truth.

I like the words 'the universe doesn't care if it broke your heart' in the above post. The path to truth and any worthwhile accomplishment in one's life is straightforward. It requires constant practice and undaunted courage.

Comforting lies may be comforting! The more we hear/ listen to such, the more we want to hear/ listen. But for how long will it continue to comfort us? And what happens when the truth finally comes crashing down?

Better a cruel truth than a comforting lie and save us the shock of our lives.

Oh, absolutely! The truth can be painful, but once the pain subsides, you feel freer than ever before.

Facing uncomfortable truths may be challenging, but it often leads to genuine fulfillment and personal growth. Embracing reality allows for lasting satisfaction.

Quite true. Being angry at the world is like shouting at void expecting to hear an echo; both are of no use. The world and the whole universe goes on leaving us to task of either accepting and loving the truth or having the comfort of lies at the cost of persistent anxiety of loosing that comfort when the truth is revealed one day.

I would love a harsh truth than to believe in comforting lies because, it is the most wicked thing a man can do for himself.
