This topic is about the February 2023 Philosophy Book of the Month, Mark Victor Hansen, Relentless: Wisdom Behind the Incomparable Chicken Soup for the Soul by Mitzi Perdue
I believe that the "Law of Attraction" is true, that you attract what you focus on.
(Location 136 - Kindle Version)
The author states that she believes the Law of Attraction, and I am sure that she is having her own reasons for that. This is a subject that has been argued upon for a long time and still being argued upon.
For the note, I am against the concept. What I believe is that we have not only to focus towards our goals, but also to plan and work hard to achieve them. I found an article which supports my argument, and I have given the link below because it is too lengthy to mention it fully in this forum.

So, which side of this argument are you in? Why?
The law of attraction is a philosophy based mostly upon esoteric thinking in philosophy and I am not convinced that the popular psychology you cite and link gives a film and thorough perspective. My own reading on the topic is based on the nature of manifestation, the conscious and subconscious aspects of mental experience. In response to your dissatisfaction with the it, in connection with goals, it may come down to how much is simply consciously chosen or not. Each of us may choose goals but they may be thwarted by the subconscious.
In speaking of the subconscious I am referring to aspects of memory which are part of brain processes, but not conscious in the moment to moment aspects of awareness but may be there in the background of awareness. The idea of the law of attraction may exist on this level, as subliminal aspects of awareness and thinking. So, in querying your dismissal of the idea of the law of attraction I am wondering whether your perception of goals is based entirely on a perspective of mind as conscious awareness as the one and only aspect of intention and its role in identifying and pursuing goals?
