I loved this book ! All the characters think about their meaning in life and accept their suffering or try to end their lives due to guilt and shame. There is a lot of emotion that gets to the reader in the lines about love and sanity or in the description of the Norwegian landscape. The writer provides an insight into the troubled souls affected by tragedy, ending in loneliness and endless introspection. By using psychological realism, he brings to life deep, complex characters.

Thank you for your thoughts. Yes, it is a character driven novel. The characters are open to their core and the readers can fully grasp what the characters are going through or have went through.
