For the same reason, hell or heaven do not exist. Is there separate heaven for the communists, for the capitalists, for Republicans or Democrats, or Christians or Muslims, etc? Historically people do not stick to the same principles for too long; rules, what's good or bad keep changing depending on the era, tribe, the countries, organization, gender, the traditions. Whoever in the skies who decides where to send people after they die, must be going crazy and hates his job, probably quit by now!
The archaic secludedness, and separateness of the people divided by ethnics, territories, borders, administrative belonging, and races were enabling a skewed vision of what awaits after, or that one should rely on power from above. In the global world, it becomes of not much use, open information makes archaic streams of thought obsolete. That does not mean that harsh measures should be taken to educate people and pull them off unsubstantiated beliefs, of course not, the flow of time will do it on its own. I am not against soft measures. Some can be fearful of human nature not leashed by religion. Come on, do we want to be free-thinking people or ferocious dogs on a leash?
