The forum index already includes a separate section - "Active Philosophy Book of the Month Topics" - for topics discussing the book of the month. So why do these topics also crowd out the 'ordinary' topics in "Recent Topics"? Can they not be suppressed?

[ I have stopped contributing to the book of the month anyway, as there seem to be extra constraints in force there, and I can't quite understand what they are. ]

Not really, no. It just felt rather less ... open than the 'normal' topics.

Technically, active topics and recent topics are different. Active topics lists topics based on the most recent reply. Recent topics are topics listed based on the OP date. However, I can see it is possible that a topic could be listed in both the 5 most recent topics and the active BOTM topics, so I will look into altering the software code to prevent that from occurring.
