Greetings to my fellow philosophers

I just got banned from another philosophy forum because I pointed out all the rhetorical fallacies several of them were using in their arguments. Apparently it is inappropriate there to call out various fallacies that are listed by Aristotle in his effort to curtail Sophism by the Sophists. Plato hated the Sophists and so do I.

I would like to add that as a rule I do what Bertrand Russell said to do always -- to separate Philosophy from both Religion and Science and keep them separate at all times.

My fundamental purpose in resorting to Philosophy is to find truth.

My fundamental purpose in resorting to Science is to investigate the physical Universe around us. We do this by making physical observations and gathering such data, then inferring from them what they have in common. All such inference I view as hypotheses. I do not believe that science truly contains any so-called "laws". In college I studied Biology, Chemistry, Genetics, Microbiology, Physics, and Zoology. Since then I have added Astronomy. I can name and find in the night sky several stars, constellations, nebulae, and galaxies.

My fundamental purpose in Religion is to determine what I should believe. Everyone should believe in something. I most truly believe that I will have another drink.

My first round of meeting many of the active participants here has been very pleasant.

Speaking with each of you is like a waterfall of fresh water flowing through my mind.

It is like being at the Academy or at the Lyceum with Plato and Aristotle themselves.

Thank you.
