That comment of mine wasn't dissing the guitar work, by the way. I've loved the sound of Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds since I was a kid. I love that whole Edwardian 1970's futuristic mashup thing. Kind of like Steampunk meets Prog Rock. In the artwork on the album I'm pretty sure the Martian tripods have flares.

DragonForce have a bit of the Spinal Tap/The Comic Strip Presents The Bad News Tour about them.
On the subject of fast guitarwork, I've always had a soft spot for The Wedding Present.

I like that one as well. My first Fugazi album was actually 13 Songs so that's technically the first Fugazi tune I listened to.

A pretty blonde Swedish girl making music you wouldn't expect from a pretty blonde Swedish girl. One of her albums is titled "Singing from the Grave", and one of her songs is titled "Funeral for My Future Children".
