This book is a real eye-opener, and I am happy I got to read this book. It is true when we require medical treatment then we trust health care services too much but they are trustworthy that is not necessary. The writer shows us how to navigate the US health care system and on that account, this book is helpful. But I talk about developing countries then nothing can prepare you for what you are going to face. This book`s title fits more to private medical facilities in my country. they're showing us the true meaning of business in healthcare. :P

In my opinion this book very educational, because I learned so many thinks about health care system. Also author give examples about her own experience about health care. It is very useful and interesting book.

Being a doctor myself I'm very keen to finish this book and am happy that such a book exists which will help the people to understand the intricacies of the medical world and will also arouse awareness about their rights and responsibilities towards the medical personnel.

I think that the book was quite important and well written even if it was basic and an introduction. Not everyone may know about all of this so it was a good introduction to the subject and she provides examples, which is good. I did find the book to be helpful but it was slightly basic, probably because I had heard a lot of this or read about it in other places. However, I still think it is an important book and gave us some important insights, examples and perspectives we might not get elsewhere. If many people write about this subject and raise awareness perhaps one day someone somewhere may pay attention and do so something perhaps. Is that a possibility?

Funny. None of the new 1 posters thought the book was mediocre or sucks... I wonder why that is?

I found this book interesting to read especially on the healthcare industry. The book is a guide for educating yourself to become a self-advocate. The author is a example of a true care giver. Always putting the patients needs first and foremost. It should be highly required reading for anyone working in healthcare. Barbara Regis is a true honorable caregiver.
