I do not think a so called 'late bloomer' could have done such a thing.

Why not? "late bloomer" refers not to what someone does, but when they do it.
As to corruption in the RCC, Martin Luther, John Calvin, Huldrych Zwingli, Martin Bucer, Heinrich Bullinger, Theodore Beza, William Farel and John Knox - just for the featured names - beat him to it by a wider margin than I did.

I agree. Late bloomers are not retards, but they do things a bit delayed than an average person would do. We apply that to small children to compare their growth.

But in this sort of an occasion, where a person needs a wide audience, it takes some time to build that audience. In such cases, can we name them as late bloomers? Or it is just the time that it takes for the process to take place

Nothing to do with an audience. In the preface, he clearly stated that he wads 30 before he started questioning the handed-down faith. That's late. I'm not sure he actually bloomed, because i only read those few pages. I just meant, some people need more time and guidance to get any kind of thinking done.
Are you sure you want to keep pursuing this? There are so many really good books to read!

Please do not misunderstand. I am trying to discuss about this book and the author not because it is a really good book or because I have nothing else to read, but because this has been chosen as the philosophical book for the month of April.

Yes, when it is considered in that way, he is late, and maybe he has not bloomed yet, and may not achieve that status ever.
