I generally agreed with your post but wonder about the logic of this statement. I would think that a universe not being infinite would be suggestive of something outside of it. Unlike an infinite universe.

Then again, by definition, if something lies "outside of the universe" then that just means we didn't correctly assess the scope and nature of the universe.

That's right. The Universe, by definition, is All. If there are other 'parallel universes', as in the so called 'multiverse' view, they are all part of the Universe, it's just that the Universe was much bigger than we thought. There can be nothing outside of the Universe by definition.
