Philosophy Discussion Forums

So where do we go from here? What is our stand on biology and manipulating it on smaller scales or by different forces, and do they make for better treatments? Granted it is not always necessary to reach for the unorthodox, but when the conventional fails us, should we not at least consider other influences ; why be stubborn about it? Is conventional medicine holy that we dare not question other influences?
