I remember listening to that "Travelling Without Moving" album a lot in the 90's. The only Jamiroquai album I had.
While we're on the subject of Funk, how about some classic Scottish funk. The Average White Band.

I'm loving that Frankie Ruiz guy. Some more great r-r-r-rs.
Yes, my wife and I have so good memories of his music. Too sad his story, though. Had problems with drugs and alcohol, went to prison (he wrote a song about it (Mi libertad (My Freedom)) and passed away some years ago.

I remember when this was in the charts. Amazing.

Had this song on a cassette tape since early 80s. Never knew what the name of the song was and what band until very recently.

As a drummer, I don't often write music, but during peak isolation I put this piece together based on about the only decent polyrhythmic beat I know. My old jam pal's guitarwork added a touch of class to the affair.
The sounds at the top and tail of the piece are sampled from sonic representations of actual star frequencies. The deepest sound is the Sun and the more hissy sound is a red dwarf.

That surely captured the star stuff.

I really liked the slides and backward drift, kept it very warm and psychedelic.

Thanks. I was reticent about posting too. Your material was even more psychedelic than mine :) Some tasty sounds and textures in there.

TY, something I think you might appreciate that has some similar tonal bending to what you were working on:
