She's one of my all-time favourite female singers: Julie London singing Dark (with her unique smoky voice)

Fado is the Portuguese counterpart of Blues, and Carminho is one of the best living Fado singers. Here's a live performance with sensational guitarists:

Peter Warlock (1894-1930): Autumn's Twilight "The long September evening dies" (1922)

The long September evening dies

The long September evening dies
In mist along the fields and lanes.
Only a few faint stars surprise
The lingering twilight as it wanes.

Night creeps across the darkening vale;
On the horizon tree by tree
Fades into shadowy skies as pale
As moonlight on a shadowy sea.

And down the mist-enfolded lanes,
Grown pensive now with evening,
See, lingering as the twilight wanes,
Lover with lover wandering.

The orchestral version of Ralph Vaughan Williams' Fantasia on "Greensleeves", arranged by Ralph Greaves in 1934. What a beautiful melody!

Greensleeves itself is an old English folk song: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greensleeves
