Oops! Thought for a minute that was a different one above - oh well, it's a good tune!

I can't remember if I already posted Kerri Chandler on his 4x pioneer tape decks (New Jersey tech house). Normally not my genre, not offensive though, but it's a blast to watch as something different.

No, it's not real but it's still delightful.

Beautiful music by Latvian composer Peteris Vasks (*1946):
(The man in the audience with the white beard and his eyes closed is the composer himself.)

The singer from Once Human is pretty credible. I'd love to hear her throw some water-flange on her vocals and cover 'Just One Fix' by Ministry, she's got Al's vocal cadence but more gravel.

Now learning more about Lauren Hart and Once Human.
Hadn't heard of Lauren Hart or this band till today but it's one of those where I'd put them in top-echelon metal before even knowing a thing about the vocalist. What I keep thinking as I listen to her is that she's going to pull some top flight angles that would be much more difficult for a guy to pull off (maybe something almost like a fried techno-y filter sweep, stab, or mimicking guitar solo or woodwind - even shredding with her voice in some interesting Mike Patton-y way).
Talent level: it's like the metal vocal equivalent of listening to Lyn Alden talk commodities.

Growling metal has evolved significantly: hot front girls, better vocals and more complex song structures, including better lead guitar. It's refreshing, to say the least.

In some ways I also can't help but think as well that Animals As Leaders, as well as Meshuggah, brought polyrhythms and a certain 'genty' edge. Once Human have a lot of moments where they'll take a melodic break and it'll feel/sound like they injected a Tosin or Javier guitar run. In that sense it feels like death metal is getting 'proggier'.
