I'm actually making a trip here in a couple of weekends to see Misery Signals in Chicago. I haven't been to a live show since covid (well, with one exception somewhere in the middle) so I'm highly excited. Plus this is one of the most talented groups that came back with an album in 2020 out of nowhere since 2013. This could well be the last tour, so definitely a bucket list show.

I was lucky enough to get out and see Ministry in early April. A bit of a subdued show but it was 27 years since I'd seen them last so still well worth it.

Very nice! I've been waxing nostalgic for life music really bad over the last year. The one show I went to see during covid was Between the Buried and Me, and the venue had some sort of horrible problem with their sound, so it sounded like a jumbled mess during the first half of the set. Really did not scratch that itch.
Glad you got out to see Ministry! Subdued or not, that's a good show. Think I'm gonna start making a policy to travel to see more shows (I live in a major city, but we get skipped for more than half of them it seems. Our music industry died )

Jeezus H Christ, Kat! I was listening to Misery Signals and at 1:30 I just about had an effin heart attack!
I have heard exactly one modern metal song that I enjoy. It's ironic, because I usually like to hear at least some element of jazziness in music, but this is about the doomiest doom imaginable :)

Bahaha, sorry! It is kind of a 180 from the song I posted a few days before that, too. I could have posted a warning I guess ^_^
That is some doomy doom, but it makes my inner goth girl happy. Might be adding that to my research & chill list.

This song (and video) make me cry like a tiny child 100% of the time no matter my mood

Three Days by Jane's Addiction typically does that with me, and if I don't think it's going to hit me it typically does by 8:00 - 9:00 minutes in. It's more than the music and lyrics though (although those are both strong), also the times in my life where it packed the most punch.

Well, that was now the first Jane’s Addiction song I’m aware of hearing (at least while knowing that’s who it was), and it’s a beautiful song, I can see it. Thanks for the share
