I would like to ask an advice on how to manage efficiently one’s own finances during a starting period in terms of successful career. In particular, if it is wise to make noticeable cuts on expenses or, for the sake of one’s own happiness and wellbeing, not so much. Let me clarify, in everyday life, reasons wastes of money can be found in healthy food, gym subscriptions, etc. What is your experience on this?

Hi, Goodness Richman,

Thank you for your question! :)

I suggest you read my article: My HUGE TIP for decision paralysis: If it's that hard to decide, it doesn't really matter.

I think that will fully answer your question.

I have a few questions for you
1. What made you write a philosophical book? did you have any type of support while writing it?
2. I find the title quite timeless how did you arrive at the title of the book?
3. You have a mentoring program which means you believe in mentors, who is yours?
4. Are you married, divorced, or Separated?
5. When should readers expect another book from you and will it be on philosophy?
6. How do you treat people who disagree with your philosophical point of view?

Regarding the Guidelines;
Since I have been an editor, I have wished the guidelines were numbered.
1. Editors could refer to the guideline by the number.
2. Reviewers would be more familiar with the list of guidelines if they were numbered.

Regarding the profanity instructions:
The instructions for typos (while reading a book) are understandable and written clearly.
The instruction for profanity has less instruction, causing more issues than typo listing.
The profanity should have the instruction to write the full sentence, like it is in the typo instructions.
Because editors do not have access to every book that is being reviewed, we sometimes cannot look up the passage with
profanity, to see how the word or phrase is used; and/or if it exists. A full sentence would be more verificable than just a single word, that the reviewer read the book. Making the profanity instructions match the typo instructions would make that helpful for the editors.

Please explain this point in simple and summarised terms from the book In It Together:

The first step to losing a needless fight is to choose to fight. The first step to becoming a slave to a feeling like hunger, anger, or fear is to think it has to be fought at all, to think that it has any true power over your choices at all.

They guarantee that they are detection-free and no one can detect that your paper has been AI-generated. Do you think that this is true? I can spot an AI-generated review by just reading a few sentences. They are formatted the same way with basically the same verbiage. Don't you think that the more advanced the AI apps are, the more advanced the detection apps will be?
Hi, Shirley Labzentis,

Thank you for your question! :)

Question 1: "I have recently come across quite a few ads for apps for AI usage. They guarantee that they are detection-free and no one can detect that your paper has been AI-generated. Do you think that this is true?"

I do not think that any AI generator will be able to create content that you can be 100% certain that it won't be caught by automated AI detectors.

However, I cannot say whether the guarantee is true or not without seeing the specific guarantee. For example, a bedmaker might say, "I guarantee this will be the most comfortable bed you ever slept on, or I will give you your money back." That guarantee is true (or at least can be true) even if the bed turns out to not be the most comfortable bed you ever used. Typically, a guarantee is simply a warranty combined with a genuine belief/prediction by the warranty provider that you won't use the warranty/guarantee.

In other words, saying, "I guarantee X will happen, or else I'll do Y," is the same as saying, "I bet you Y that X will happen."

Losing a bet does not mean the person's bet was untrue.

My bet is that those ads aren't saying their AI-generated content won't be detected. Instead, they are saying they are very confident in their prediction, and they will give you a refund if their AI-generated content is detected as AI by a third-party. In other words, they are merely saying they will give you a refund if you get caught.

Even if their prediction turns out to be wrong (i.e. they lose the bet), they weren't lying when they made the bet/warranty/guarantee. That is, assuming they honor their bet/warranty/guarantee.

2nd Question: "Don't you think that the more advanced the AI apps are, the more advanced the detection apps will be?"

Answer: Yes.

Hi, Barab Arzarki,

Sorry, I think you posted in the incorrect topic by accident.

Please post your above message in the following topic:

Did you understand every sentence in the book, "In It Together"? If not, what part did you first not understand?

When you post in the above topic, make sure to follow all the instructions in the first post of that topic about what to include (e.g. provide your best guess(es) about what you think the sentence probably means). Make sure to only post the very first sentence that you don't understand, meaning the one that is closest to the beginning of the book.

Hi, Tush4Christ,

Some of these questions were already asked and answered earlier in the Q&A:

Who is your role model?

Are you going to write any more books? What are your upcoming writing projects? Do you have any plans for the future and strategies to accomplish those goals?

Moving forward, please do make sure to read all the previous Q&As before asking a new question to make sure the question hasn't already been asked and answered.
