As Atheism isn’t prepared to do that then it will never understand consciousness which is why atheistic science is slowly giving up on the issue.
You ARE backing a loser if you accept atheism therefore.

You complain that science has not worked it out, but religion sure hasn't. Same applies with the universe's history.
We have to remember that atheistic science freely admits that it doesn’t know what force cause it’s (mythical) single Big Bang and tries to explain its (mythical) Big Crunch with a still unknown force.
These are the facts.
Not very good is it?
All you can do is apply the God of the Gaps, a known logical fallacy.

In your black & white conception, all scientists are atheists and all atheists are science-literate. This is demonstrably wrong.
Atheism means that you disbelieve in a deity. You are an atheist - to Allah. I'm atheist to both Allah and Jehovah.
I love nature, so I find science fascinating. I don't see it as related to atheism, other than a certain level of scientific knowledge means appreciating that most mythological claims are physically impossible.
No no, the theists claim - these were rare miracles!
No, Occam's Razor suggests that it's more likely that the writers of the Bible were speaking in metaphors or embellishing myths to make them easier to remember (a common practice before the printing press) than freakish suspensions of the laws of physics occurred. Remember, the writers of the Bible thought that some bacterial diseases were demonic possession, so that should be taken into account.

Uummm... pretty much everyone has a functional working model that does the job.
Mental health is at crisis point everywhere and all that atheism has to offer is let’s all pretend that as nobody exists then the mental health crisis must be an illusion?
Atheistic philosophy and science does not explain the psychological Belindi.
God is not an impossibility.
Common sense should tell you that Atheism is not going to pursue the correct philosophy and science.
Oh and BTW, if in fact there's a mental health crisis "everywhere", since atheism (plus agnosticism) comprises about 6 to 7% of folks, I guess theism is responsible for 93% of the crisis and has 93% of the burden for fixing it. How's that going?
You need reassess what you mean by theism by the way.Mere belief in a God won’t help you at the end of the day Belindi.
How little you know about anything at all that really matters.

Sy Borg wrote: ↑February 29th, 2024, 1:25 am There is no such thing as "atheistic science". Ten or more percent of scientists believe in some kind of God. Joshua Jacob, are they doing atheistic science too? How can anyone take what you say seriously when you just make stuff like that up?There you go again bringing mere religion into it Sy Borg.
How can science be atheistic? Science just studies nature. While science has not found any evidence of any supernatural Biblical claims, but that's not a problem science. Science doesn't care. It (theoretically) only cares about what it real. If research uncovers new phenomena, great. If not? That's great too. Each finding, positive or negative, helps to provide clearer picture.
