Success is a choice. These words keep ringing in my head as I go about my daily activities. The idea one terms as success could differ from one person to another. In general, do what makes you happy and content.

Being a people-pleaser is not good for one’s mentality. Looking at it from a critical point of view, one does not have to struggle to live up to people’s expectations in order to achieve success and happiness.

In today's world, we constantly hear "must do", "must have", etc for almost everything. These three principles are eye-openers. By teaching ourselves to let go of the word "must", we can actually achieve real happiness as well as success. These principles are simple yet immensely powerful. Scott, thank you for writing such an insightful and challenging book. I agree that "True love isn't sacrificing your happiness; true love is being happy to sacrifice." For "there is no greater love than to lay down one's life for one's friends." (John 15:13) Likewise, as you alluded to elsewhere in your book, studies prove that people are happier when they attend church service regularly (or have a spiritual connection to God). "Happy is the man whose delight is in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night . . . they prosper in all they do." (Psalm 1) Thank you again for redirecting us to the important things in life.

Choice is definitely ours and there is nothing that we must do against out will.
Yet, to achieve our goals, the requisite action/effort is a must.

I agree with you on this.
I summarise it as follows:
If I want X which requires Y, my success depends on the condition placed by Y.
If I don't or can't do something about Y, I'm willingly choosing to not have X.

I agree with the first point. But for the second point, it is not so easy; a lot of factors can come in play to negate the efforts of the other person. The third point is also fairly true.

My philosophy for happiness and success is based on three key principles: First, recognize that there is nothing you must do in life, and you have the freedom to choose. Second, believe that you can achieve what you desire; success is often a result of choice and determination. Finally, understand that achieving your goals usually requires specific actions or sacrifices, which are the prices you choose to pay for your desires. Most people don't really want what they would name as their alleged dream iob or dream house or dream spouse, because they are delusionally imagining getting the pros without the cons. In other words, they imagine their dream job (or such) as something it's not (e.g. getting the bigger paycheck or payout without actually having to do more work.

I resonate with the notion that success is attainable with determination. Breaking down the process into manageable steps indeed makes the journey seem more achievable and accessible.
