Due to many factors, in business and life, we sometimes are wisest to pivot. YouTube started out as a dating website. If YouTube didn't pivot, they'd be dead, like Blockbuster.

I created OnlineBookClub BEFORE Kindle was released and BEFORE iPhone was released, in a time when most people hadn't even heard of "ebooks" or thought they were silly. In chess, one must play many moves ahead, or lose. In business and technology and internet society, a company or service must stay several moves ahead or join Blockbuster in death.

The forum has more active members than ever and is doing great and is going exactly where I want it to. In fact, if anything, it's too active. I cannot even find the time each day to read all the posts in which I have been directly replied to. It's insanely active for a humans-only site. Almost too active. However, websites with CAPTCHA-passing bots that are indistinguishable from humans will be much more active, to the point of being killed by activity. Needless to say, the oncoming Internet Zombie Apocalypse will destroy via too much activity, not too little. A tiny sample of it was already provided via the disruption in the USA that inflaming division-inducing Russian bots caused with the help of controversy-loving algorithms run by Big Tech, that all follow a strategy of divide and conquer, using bots and non-human identities to sow the divisions and commit other manipulations.

Typically, you can't build a door unless you build a wall.

When you build your safe house from a zombie apocalypse and secure your doors, block up your windows with nailed wood, and put a guy with a shotgun on the roof, the point isn't to have everyone on the inside. I'd rather be on the inside with one single other person than let even one zombie in or leave even one metaphorical window unboarded, or leave one shotgun unloaded.

We're doing something here that nobody else is doing anywhere on the internet. We are truly being something that is one-of-a-kind. But there's reasons nobody else is doing it, at least not yet. It's not meant for everybody. Most people would not like a website like this.

As I explained in this post, I am doing the metaphorical equivalent of nailing 2x4s to all the windows in preparation for the oncoming and already in-progress Internet Zombie Apocalypse.

When others start doing what we started now, it will be too late for them. Some people won't even realize we are in an Internet Zombie Apocalypse until it is way too late for them.

For those who choose to go elsewhere rather than chip-in for the costs of what I am doing here, all I can is good luck. When we lock the doors and board up the windows behind you, only time will tell what happens to the places you go versus the one you left. With love, I hope the best for you.
