Hadn't heard of Lauren Hart or this band till today but it's one of those where I'd put them in top-echelon metal before even knowing a thing about the vocalist. What I keep thinking as I listen to her is that she's going to pull some top flight angles that would be much more difficult for a guy to pull off (maybe something almost like a fried techno-y filter sweep, stab, or mimicking guitar solo or woodwind - even shredding with her voice in some interesting Mike Patton-y way).
Talent level: it's like the metal vocal equivalent of listening to Lyn Alden talk commodities.

It's refreshing, to say the least.In some ways I also can't help but think as well that Animals As Leaders, as well as Meshuggah, brought polyrhythms and a certain 'genty' edge. Once Human have a lot of moments where they'll take a melodic break and it'll feel/sound like they injected a Tosin or Javier guitar run. In that sense it feels like death metal is getting 'proggier'.
