My name is Greenham and I'm new here. I have no educational or philosophical background in philosophy (apart from a 101 class I took about 12 years ago; apart from that I'm an autodidact and ) but I hope to compensate for that by being a good reader and an overall curious person. My main philosophical interest comes from my long-standing and recently intensified doubts in my life-long religious beliefs, but I recognize that philosophy holds value for basically all domains of knowledge so I'm eager to learn more.
I've read a few of the philosophy classics but a lot of my knowledge comes from conversations and perusing Wikipedia or the Sanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy, or reading other forums.
I found this website via Google after being dissatisfied with the volume of unanswered questions on /r/askphilosophy and a similar dissatisfaction with Philosophy Stack Exchange. This looks to be a lively forum so I'm excited!
I'd rather not get too into personal details but I hope what I've provided gives you a perspective on why I'm here and what I hope to contribute and get out of this place.
I’m new here also, and similarly have some education with philosophy having taken some classes in college back in the day. Also have been and continue to be a religious person with ongoing questions that I’d not characterize as doubts. I do seek philosophical and logical clarity which is what brought me here. I just thought I’d say hello and wish you well on your philosophical journey.
